There are several reasons why someone may need to be seen on an emergency basis, and we do our best to accommodate people so they are seen and taken care of as soon as we can. Several things would constitute an emergency and if you have any of these on the list you should give our office a call or contact your nearest hospital as soon as you can:

  • Floaters or Flashing lights
  • Curtain or Veil coming over vision
  • Pain
  • Sudden Loss of vision
  • Sudden decrease in vision
  • Sudden onset of double vision
  • Anything that you think should not wait

Even problems such as a red eye or eyes that are mildly irritated but aren’t an immediate emergency should still give the office a call as we can often accommodate these problems on a same day basis. Although a problem may not be immediately sight threatening even a simple red eye is often easier to treat when caught early.
